Learning how to snipe is one of the most difficult things to do in Halo 3. It takes tons of practice and hours of playing before you master it. Actually, some players barely get better. Their foundation is based on sketchy strategies. I've decided to come up with a set of guidelines to help you out in Halo 3.
Constantly be moving. Halo 3 Glitches Never sit in one spot, no matter how good you think it is (and it probably isn't that good). If you stay in one spot, people will eventually find you. By moving, you make yourself harder to hit.
Always aim for the head. Headshots are instant deaths, while it takes 2 shots to the body.
Look at your motion detector. It's best to stay zoomed out until you see someone or your motion sensor detects someone. When sniping it is best to quick-scope. This is accomplished by your crosshairs on the enemy before you zoom in. Once your view is magnified, give the crosshairs a little adjustment and take your headshot.
If you're not amazing with the sniper rifle, please do not try to use the sniper in every situation(i.e. in close and the enemy has a shotgun). That means you, Mr. 10,000-games-played-and-only-250-EXP.
Aim with the left thumbstick (aka strafe). It keeps the targeting recticle steadier. Use the right thumbstick only for small adjustments to get that needed head shot. Of course you don't want to strafe too much if you are on a narrow path and could fall off.
